Heavy Down Pour: Eti-Osa Submerges With Water

The people of Eti-Osa have continued to appeal to the State Government to demolish all structures obstructing the free flow of water towards ending the perennial flooding in the area.

According to a statement credited to a residence of the area, Chief Kola Adesanya, who expressed dissatisfaction that, Eti-Osa always submerged with water when ever it rains, emphasizing the need for the State Ministry of Environment to demolish all structures obstructing the free flow of water to salvage the situation.

He hinted that area such as, Ologolo, Igbo Efon, Ajiran, Ajah, Ado, Badore are being submerged with water whenever it rains, saying its adverse effects on commercial activities could not be quantified.

Similarly, one of the residences of Ajiran, Chief Tunde Koleoso, buttressed that there was no access road to Ajiran whenever it rains, stating that the development showed that, the State Ministry of Works and Infrastructures had been incapacitated with insufficient funds to maintain existing roads in the state and also reconstruct deplorable ones.

He applauded the State Government for constructing the Ajah-Epe expressway which has reduced productive hours being wasted by motorist on that axis, stressing the need for the State Government to extend such gesture to Ajiran road, by reconstructing the road with drainages and solar street light.

He maintained that the people of Eti-Osa usually paid highest taxes to the coffers of the State Government, saying the government should therefore reciprocate this by providing adequate infrastructures that would improve their living conditions and encourage them to discharge their civil responsibilities without doubts.
